about

Don't look for me now is a tribute to a friend of mine that tragically drowned in the River Taw in Barnstaple on the 4th December 2016.

He was a father, a musician (incredible saxophone player) he was a character and some what eccentric in his own way but mostly he was a good friend to me and I really miss him.

He struggled with Bi-polar for the latter part of his life but when he was in a good place he could light up a room with his personality and sax playing. When he was in a bad place it was so hard for him and it was like the darkness consumed him. He would often offer prayers to anyone he'd meet no matter how he was feeling. He believed in more than I could ever summon the faith for but he was unashamedly prepared to talk with anyone about finding hope in another way.

Like lost treasure to keep, he was pulled from the deep.

lyrics

Don't look for me now
In that old market town
By the echoing walls
Of the pannier hall

Don't look for the sound
on the streets underground
with the lost and the found
Cos I won't be around

Don't look through the doors
of the hospital wards
On Victoria Street
We will no longer meet

Don't look late at night
In the underpass light
My cathedral of dreams
Playing colors and hymns

Allelu
Allelu

Look to the Sea
or the rivers for me
but in the rivers and streams
I will not be seen

On the banks of the Taw
You will find me no more
Like lost treasure to keep
I was pulled from the deep

Allelu
Allelu,
Alleluia
